Leslie's Mobile App Review
Leslie's is a well-known pool store that offers products pool-related products and services. The Leslie's mobile app is intended for consumers who own pools. The mobile app allows you to track and test your water, shop for products, find Leslie's store locations, and keep track of your rewards earned from shopping with them. When the app functions as it should, it is fairly simple to navigate and use. To test the pool water, you simply take a picture of your test strip, and the app reads the information and provides results. It will then offer a treatment plan based on your pool test strip results. The design is simple, clean, and appealing in design. I like that you can quickly navigate to the section you need to use. The functionality is not great when it does not work as expected. I tried to sign into my Leslie's account to obtain better screenshots, but part of the issue I have with their website crosses over into their mobile app. While writing this review, I reset my password twice, and no matter what device or browser I use, it does not allow me to log in. I keep receiving error messages that my password is wrong. As a user, running into issues like these is very frustrating and makes me want to shop elsewhere. Their website is just as bad; when trying to place an order, it does not allow me to complete my purchase and instead takes me to a black screen with HTML code.
My recommendations to the company and technical support team would be to immediately fix the issues causing users not to be able to log into their accounts. This issue would be a high priority and affect customer satisfaction. My next recommendation would be to allow guest usage for the "My Pool" section to allow for pool testing and water treatment plan recommendations. My next recommendation is to display items that are currently out of stock with a label stating that. The app currently does not display out-of-stock items, and when you hit "Add to Cart" if your product is out of stock, you get a pop-up that states, "Oopss! This product has limited quantity in stock, please update the quantity and try again". I was only trying to add 1 item, so I cannot edit that amount unless I do not add it at all.
Overall, this mobile app could use some work, but it is helpful to be able to take a picture and see how you need to treat your pool for maintenance. It takes out the guesswork of lining it up against the test strip bottle and seeing what colors match. Also, being able to order the items the treatment plan recommends right from the same app is very helpful.
